This Saturday January 23, 2010 the country celebrated a National Yoga Day with workshops and yoga classes given for free and for cause donations. Studios across the county participated in celebrating this event. One such studio, Joy of Being in Moss Beach, California offered coastal residents unique yoga classes and raised $395 to benefit the Art of Yoga Project.

The Art of Yoga Project is a non-profit organization offering yoga classes to incarcerated young women. "..To lead teen girls in the California juvenile justice system toward accountability to self, others and community by providing practical tools to effect behavioral change" is the mission of this project.

Jane Sanguinetti, the owner of Joy Of Being Studio, thanked Oksana Koval, Rocky Coursen and Jessica Archer, the yoga teachers donating their time and teaching yoga classes that day, with the following message.

"Wow, what an amazing event yesterday,,, High vibrations of love and connection at our beautiful joy of Being! That feeling of humanity and connection with all life was completely evident as I watched people return to themselves with JOY all day.

We raised $395 for the Art of Yoga project and I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all of you for giving your time and energy to this event and project."
Courtney Woodrow, the SF Site Director of The Art of Yoga Project wrote the following in gratitude:

"Dearest Friends!  On behalf of The Art of Yoga Project I thank each and every one of you!!  You embody the beauty and generosity of yoga and we are honored that AYP is the recipient of this act of kindness!

Being a day of donation and appreciation, I am delighted and surprised that such a bundle of money was raised!  Every dollar counts, every thought and hope is precious, and your action can only create positive waves in the community!

With gratitude and a deep bow,
Courtney"
