Giving Thanks

On November 22 in our Sunday class we were giving thanks. In the beginning of the class during our meditation session I asked students to think of someone or something in their life they want to thank. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

One student said out loud “I'm thankful for this class.”

I was thankful for every one in the class as they have allowed for our thanking experience become shared and magnified. It was heart opening. And it was very appropriate to proceed with the heart and chest opening asanas.

As we warmed ourselves with breath and intention we grew from the ground into the mountain. And as we receded back to savasana or final relaxation pose, we concluded with chanting of “thank you” in Ukrainian: “Dya-ku-yu”.

Happy Thanksgiving and happy giving Thanks.
